Your EPF corpus at retirement

How this works: You contribute 12% of Basic + DA each month and your employer matches it. But the employer's 12% is split: 8.33% goes to the EPS pension scheme — capped at the ₹15,000 wage ceiling, so a maximum of ₹1,250 a month — and only the remainder lands in your EPF. Interest is 8.25% a year (EPFO, FY 2025-26), compounded annually here. EPF is EEE: contributions, interest and maturity are tax-free, though interest on your own contributions above ₹2.5 lakh in a year is taxable. Your EPS pension is paid separately from age 58 and is not part of this corpus. Educational estimate — actual EPFO rates are declared each year. Compare with our PPF and NPS calculators.
